Sunday 2003-08-03 Iraqanama Sooner or later US will catch or kill Saddam Hussein and complete the remake of Panama operations of 1989. Still isn't it rather embarrassing to hear a Baghdad lawyer quip "It's like [the Americans] don't know how to take over a country"? Or to let US appointed governor (a former enemy of Saddam) receive guests, who happen to be wanted by US authorities because he does not trust the Americans? Embarrassment continues as Senators fail to receive a firm answer on how long US will be occupying Iraq at what cost, let alone rationale and plans behind this foreign military venture from Pentagon. Can Pentagon explain? Update on 2003-08-23: Washington Post reports US is recruiting Saddam's secret policemen to hunt the resistence movement responsible for recent bombing of Jordanian embassy, UN headquaters in Baghdad as well as oil pipelines, powerlines and water supply.
