sweetcode

To quote: Sweetcode reports innovative free software. "Innovative" means that the software reported here isn't just a clone of something else or a minor add-on to something else or a port of something else or yet another implementation of a widely recognized concept. ... Software reported on sweetcode should surprise you in some interesting way. "I didn't know you could do that" or "I never thought about that problem that way" or "What a strange way to do things".

It also has a RSS feed.

RSS Syndication

www.syndic8.com seems to be a good starting point on the subject of RSS.

Feedreader is a simple RSS aggregator for windows (it utilizes Internet Explorer and ActiveX components). HotSheet is another RSS aggregator written in Java and supports WebStart. Unfortunately neither of these tools is production quality yet.

www.larkfarm.com is another good source on RSS. This topic will be covered in more detail in the next few weeks.

For example, www.economist.com becomes makeashorterlink.com

Another nifty url service is www.archive.org
